2x/wk per bodypart workout critique

Guys, a basic workout, but I wanna know if I'm doing anything noticeably wrong... I don't work fulltime right now so have lotsa time, and am going to hit my first anavar-only cycle in 3 weeks, so here's my plan: (I'm intermediate, not advanced, so 2x/wk works for me)

Day 1: am: chest, pm: triceps, cardio
Day 2: am: legs, pm: delts, cardio
Day 3: am: back, pm: biceps, cardio
Day 4: off...
Day 5: Day 1
...

do cardio pretty much every day... can't really avoid it cuz I kickbox, and on "easy weight" days I'll prolly do all weights in the same session and then just cardio the other part of the day.

reason i prefer to split is to avoid cortisol production and give e.g. triceps & biceps a bit of time to recover for greater intensity.

(will eat ca. 3500kcals @ 180lbs cuz wanna gain but just lean mass, not bulk and no fat, but i digress :))

workout critique...?

I dont know bro... its tough for a natural to workout twice a day. Personally I wouldnt recommend it. I dont think you can put 110% into both workout day in and day out. Thats just my opinion if it works for you then keep it up.

Day 1: am: chest, pm: triceps, cardio
Day 2: am: legs, pm: delts, cardio
Day 3: am: back, pm: biceps, cardio
Day 4: off...
Day 5: Day 1

I would suggest doing cardio in the AM if your going to do it on training days, and combine 2 bodyparts in the PM. For example on Day 1 do cardio first thing in the morning and in the PM do chest and tris. I have read in numerous studies that your nervous system cant handle 3 consecutive days of training but I could be wrong. I always recommend 2 days on, 1 day off.
Good luck bro..
:D:D

i agree with monstar..how long have you been traing like this??surprised you haven't overtrained, but if it works.............

Thx for the resp dude, two points tho:

1. I'm gonna be on anavar doing this, so I won't qualify as "natural" anymore :)

2. I'm only intermediate, not advanced, and I take a shitload of supps (glutamine, creatine, tons of protein, did I mention anavar :)) and recover quickly... can you elaborate on not training 3 consecutive days? I noticed you're on Titan training which only does 2 consecutive days (and I will try it after my cycle), but for now... can anyone else chime in and tell me if it'd really kill me to do 3 days? I do that right now and have no probs with it but am always open to new options... however, right now I have SHITLOADS of time on my hands which I won't in a few months, so...

Thanks bro!

Actually my current routine is a bit diff but similar enough... I will keep the overtraining in mind, but for when I'm on a cycle (albeit a mild one) that shouldn't be too much of an issue, should it?

Thanks!

nope, and i'll tell ya,you like the anavar,be sure to keep protein high and keep running creatine.i wouldn't say you are going to not overtrain while on gear, but go in and stimulate then head home.are you doing anavar only cycle?

Yes, my first cycle is var-only cuz I'm hesitant about sides and just wanna get my feet wet. I've done LOTS of research and plan an anavar/winny/eq cycle in Jan or Feb after training my ass off naturally the 2 months after my var-only cycle.

Can you suggest anything to minimize overtraining (other than training less)? I know cortisol is the enemy... I do a 40gprotein/40gcarb drink right after workout, too...

Thanks!

I am a natty(natural) and I do work some bodyparts twice a week. I hit my slowgainers. i.e. my quads, arms, and chest. Now I work at a gym during the week so it is easy for me to get there twice a day a few days of the week. The biggest key to working bodyparts twice a week on or off gear is proper nutrition and rest without those no matter what you take your body will not recover quick enough. I also make sure that the second workout is different than the first earlier in the week. Different exercises, different poundage and reps. I do this to shock the muscle into growth and it has worked very very well especially for my quads which were severely lacking due to a long recovery period from a torn ligament in my knee. Make sure you warm up very very well also.

sorry so long to post back.....he's right ,nutrition is number one regardless.gear isn't magic, and will see alot better results if you give attention to your diet,rest,etc........you'll be fine Daman........let me know how it goes ,man......
