Working Back twice a week.

this was my old split:
mon- chest, shoulders, tris
tue- quads, hams, lower back, abs
wed- off
thur- back, bi's
fri- shoulders, tri's, calves

now I'm trying:
mon- chest, tris [staggered sets of back (pull-up and pull-down and pull-over movents only)]
tue- quads, hams, lower back, abs
wed- off
thur- shoulders, tri's, calves
fri- back, traps, biceps
weekend off

my back was "begging" to be worked twice, by doing all of the heavy rowing movements on a different day I think I'll be fine. I did the chest workout today, it went great and did not affect my strength at all. It's not a complete back workout but it felt good.

My back gets hit all the time. I only train it specifically once a week...but from all my strongman lifting it gets hit quite a bit. I would not suggest doing much to directly hit it more than once a week.

Back day is especially hard for me as far as recovery goes, a close second only to quads/hams. I don't think I could hit mine twice a week but everyone is different...
