Who all eats (or trys to) all organic foods?

There is so much erroneous information out there about eating organic foods that it is becoming really hard to stick to the facts. Let me run it down for a few people.

1) Organic fruits and vegetables are grown with no pesticides/insecticides etc. That doesn't mean they do not have any. Very big difference. Just because a fruit was grown without it doesn't mean it isn't on there - it will be there just in lesser quantities. Many conventional fruits and veggies have no detectable pesticide residues. It is only certain ones that are heavily sprayed, and even then washing them would get rid of some of them.

2) Kevin T. and his book is full of misinformation, false statements and cherry picking information to make some sort of point. Read a few of the rebuttal and realize that this guy is nothing more than a snake oil salesman who preys on consumers to sell his books. Just because 10 million books were bought does not mean the information presented in the book is factually accurate. It is not.

3) The "it is more nutritious" point. Vegetable and fruit nutrition is determined by the particular strain/heredity rather than its organic status. "Organic" just means that a set of guidelines were followed when growing the crop. That has little to do with a fruit or vegetable's nutritional content.

4) If there were no minerals in the soil then the plant would not grow. The fact that the plant is growing means there is enough minerals.

5) In 1997 over 60% of fruits and vegetables had no detectable pesticides. So again, only certain fruits are sprayed more than others. If you want then go ahead and buy those organic.

6) Organically grown foods are no tastier than conventional foods. Some people say they can tell the difference between the two, but that is often the case because of freshness.

In fact I would routinely test people by putting conventional milk in Organic Horizon half-gallon Tetra-pack containers and the organic milk in conventional containers. People could tell that the "Horizon" one was a lot tastier than the "regular, conventional" milk.

Little did they know. That made me laugh.

Certain fruits and vegetables might make sense to buy organic if they are heavily sprayed. In which case the benefit would outweigh the higher cost of going organic. Stick to eating whole grains, get a healthy dose of veggies and fruits, don't go crazy on sugar and you'll be fine. Not to mention you'll be spending half as much on food.

Yea its crazy even people that think they eat healthy cuz they dont eat junk food or get alot of protein, really arent eating healthy at all cuz its all chemically altered, bioengineered and full of toxins.

This is why i started making my own protein bars. All natural, all organic, with the exception of the whey
