I understand that alot of people use water when mixing their shakes, but I just can't force it down.

Whole milk prob has too much fat in it, so what do you guys suggest?
Whole? 2%, 1% or fatfree skim?

What advantages/disadvantages of using one or the other?

I dont like skim, it tastes really bad for some reason.

Where i live they have skim, 1/2%, 1%, 2% and regular milk. I usually use either 1/2% or 1%. 1/2% only has like 1 grams of fat in it.

I use 2%...about 2 gallons a week. When I'm low carbing I use Carb Countdown 2%...1/2 the carbs and 33% more prot than regular 2%...it also cost 2x as much. It is fairly thick...tastes very much like half and half to me but makes very nice shakes.

There is little difference between 1 and 2%

So choose the one that tastes best for you

But there are still too much carbs in milk :worried:

Suck it up for Christ's sake and use water.

How bad do you want to look good? That's what I always ask. It amazes me how many complain about protein shakes w/water. If only it were that simple!

Why do you avoid milk ?

Because of lactose of for another reason ?

hoods "dairy beverage", Carb Countdown, is like $3/half gallon and has 12g protein & 3g of 'net' carbs per 8oz serving.

So 16oz of this no carb milk is 24g of protein & 6 carbs, throw in another scoop or two of your own protein and you're ready to go.

Way better than water, provided the company isnt bullshittin about the carbs. Sucralose tastes good. Still, if you cant afford this, water is probably the way to go.

in my experience when i was using Metrx i didnt use milk at all. instead i found that getting the vanila flavor (which all flavors are near intolerable :P ) and mixing it with ice in a blender and a decent fruit juice, (grape was one of my favorites) the flavor wasnt too bad and i got very lean within one cycle, and i split the costs and supplies with a friend. made for a decent shake to drink on just before and during some of the workout. then graze on food throughout the day.
