Ways to ease into cardio

Hey guys... Today i ran a mile, and it was the first time i've run in a pretty long time. It was a fucking tedious 1 mile run, and i really want to get back into cardio since I feel like a pussy.

Do you guys have any ideas on how i can slowly, but steadily make my way into getting better at cardio? Any suggestions/ideas are much appreciated

Thanks

Lol jk start slow and work your way up. Maybe start jogging a mile really sssssssllllllllllloooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww 3 days week, increase your distance by no more than 10% a week at most. Get up to 2-3 miles 3 times a week then start going faster

f that, dive right in! run 20 50yd sprints.. about 15 sec between each and every day focus on cutting the break down. when you do sports like football you don't slowly get in shape, they make you run til you puke the first day lol

I would suggest getting on a bike.

Much easier on your joints, plus you actually go somewhere.

wait....you dont go somewhere running??????

Running is great for the body and joints as long as is it done properly, a lot of people dont do it properly though

thanks guys.. one of the reasons i want to run more is because i play a lot of pickup basketball (3-4 hours sometimes), football, and starting soon soccer and i want to be in shape. I have also moved up to 171.7 pounds as of yesterday's post workout.

Sorry shibs but I wouldn't dive right into running, that's a sure way to get shin splints and put you out for a while. Like T said, in the beginning you're better off running for time than distance, this way you build up your cardio endurance. Once you've got that down you can work on running specific distances and finally running those distances at increasingly better times.
