Water Retention

fiction agent

New member
I never realized how bad I hold water, because in the past with water weight I felt pretty good.

However, I tried the peanutbutter diet 2 months ago and experienced excellent results with minimal water retention. I never felt so great and finally undertstand what people mean by bloat.

Now, I can't get rid of the bloat.

In a typical day I eat eggs, chicken, salad, probably a diet soda of some sort, water, seltzer, vegetables, protien shake, ocassional apple or banana, meat for dinner, and snack on pretzels, cheese, fruits. I'll have milk once in a while but I'm not a big fan.

Now I realize most of those foods have sodium. However, considering I'm eating somewhat well, I don't see how to mantain a healthy yet enjoyable diet and keep water weight down. Is it one or the other? I look at the diets that some of you guys have and it just seems too hard for me.

I'm a college student, 6'4, 235, 14-16% BF.

What do you guys do to cut the water weight? Or is this something thats entirely based on genetics...

I have the same problem, I think we just might react to carb intake in a negative way. For me when my carbs are moderate to high I retain alot of water but if I drop carbs for like 2 or 3 days I rip up pretty easily. I know sodium has alot to do with retention also, you might want to look into to that. I am at about 10% BF bloated as hell right now but my strength has sky rocketed. I am natty and about 210 pounds.

probably 2.5 liters a day

Drink more. You should be drinking closer to a gallon. A gallon is almost 4liters. I bet a big reason you are retaining water is too muc salt and not enough water.

Drinking coffee, carbonated drinks, sugar free products also makes you hold water

????
It's the OPPOSITE

Coffee is slighly diuretic

Coffee will cause you to lose water

Really? then why when bodybuilders compete for their final weeks they drop the coffee from their diet?

It is likely because they start eliminating water too. The caffeine from the coffee will make them retain water BECAUSE THEY ARE DEHYDRATED. If you dehydrate yourself, ANYTHING will make you hold water.

Not only that, but they usually eliminate EVERYTHING - including protein shakes and green veggies.
