vitamins for male

I am a 31 year old females and I started taking my husband's vitamins and after a few days my urine got really dark and I pee more than often, are those vitamin affecting my kidneys? I thought vitamins are vitamins and either man or woman can take them, regardless the brand.

You're correct - you can take them. They won't make you pee more often - there's nothing in them that makes you do that. And some vitamins will color your pee.

Heck, if you wanna see dark pee drink some beet juice!

Well, I believe that more than anything, this has to do with the dosages and concentrations of the vitamins. If they are meant for males, they will have dosages that are manly. If you take his supplements, you should be taking no more than half the dosage. Also, some minerals or other ingredients may tint the urine - that is a plausible possibility. Finally, you may have to drink more water..

When you take more vitamins then needed at a given period of time, your body will excrete them in your urine and it'll give the urine a brighter color.

The exact same thing would happen if you ate a lot more fruits and vegetables one day then normal. Your urine would be a brighter color. It's completely normal and not dangerous at all.

You have nothing to worry about. The same vitamin supplement can be used by men and women.

Vitamins will likely make your pee more bright but not necessarily darker. Just make sure you are drinking 3-4 liters or 1 gallon of water per day to stay hydrated.
