Update: Pics from 9-3-01

As many of you know, I competed in April '01 at 179lbs in an all-nat show. After 5 months of eating everthing in sight and bustin' my ass in the gym, I'm almost back to where I started before I started dieting. I weighed 219 in these pics. Didn't pump for these pics.

I'm wanting to do another show in April '02. I'm just coming off of a 7 week bench program, and gaining some decent strength (but no noticable size though :( ). In 3 weeks I'm going to start a different program, and I just wanted to get everyones opinion on what I should focus on next. I know you will all say chest, but it needs a break for a good month to heal up from this crazy program I've been doing. What'cha think? Keep kickin' the size? Watch the diet and rep for hardness/vascularity? Anything else? Thanks in advance.

where did you place? Nice work. I wouldn't worry too much about you chest. I'd rather focus on the calves. Again nice work.

Nice work dude! Your pecs don't look bad. Nice spread in the lats in that front double bi. I agree with Atlas, probably ought to hit the calves s bit more. they're not fun, but they make a lot of difference.

Looking good.
I would add some decline/incline chest work. In the front lat shot, the chest does not have the fullness it could have. You gotta have the mucle way up to the collarbone, and fullness (but not man-boobs) at the base.
The calfs look good, but they are overshadowed by quad. But then agin, the quads are offseason too. Cut htem and it might balance.
Forearms need some work to match the full bicep you got going. From the rear it lloks like a football, and the front is almost too big.

Good back, even at 219, there is erectors, and hard looking power. A lot get real fat there fast.

Can you post a pix from show for a comparision.

Jim

Thanks guys! In that show last april, I took 2nd in the Novice Tall and 4th in the Open Tall. Here is a link to some pics from the show on my website: http://www.geocities.com/kingsquat/2001naturalshow.html

My diet right now consists of:

5am 5 egg whites 1 yolk
4 pieces of cinnamon/sugar toast

9am 33g protein (powder)
Yogurt
cereal bar
granola bar

11:30 Whatever looks good. Usually pasta w/ meat sauce. (tons of hamburger!)

2:30 2 tbsp peanut butter
granola bar
33g protein powder

5pm workout

6:15 33 g protein powder w/ 5-7g creatine

8:00 Roast -n- potatoes or something similar
-----------

I do quite a bit of incline work, but can't seem to develop the chest up around the collarbone area. I've been hitting calves semi-hard, at least once per week. Sometimes twice. I've heard you can hit them several times per week, maybe I should give that a try.

BTW, Thanks for the comment regarding my "football" sized bi's. Though I don't share your view exactly, a guy can't hear that enough!!!

Take a look at the pics from the show and let me know what you think. gymratpa -- you were right on the quads. They cut quite a ways down for show, as I hold most of my bf there.

Later.

lookin good, kid.

Is that a ten pound bag o' whey I see in the background? Sweet, where did you get that??
