The desire to give advice in the gym

I used to try and help people, even my own friends:rolleyes: and then I realized that 95% of the population doesn't want to lift with good form, intellegence and intensity..... There have been a few friends who have listened and they have gotten a lot stronger and quicker but on the whole it is too much for people to drop their egoes and get it down right.... I just now get into my zone an get working, if they ask then I am happy to help

I always wanna point things out too. For instance, there's this dude, he's not huge, but he's pretty big. He was benchin the 125s on incline, and it was seriously less than half ROM. I have no idea why the hell people do this.

I give advice to no one! I will only advise people who ask for it. I let people make their own mistakes. I am at the gym to train for me, so I could care less on what other people are doing. . .thats their business.

That's usually how I feel... I don't pay attention to others most of the time... but when I see the young kids, I have a soft spot in my heart... because they REALLY don't know better... 24 year old guys should know better... a 16-20 year old kid might not have the know-how to even ask or know he's doing something wrong.

I guess I should just harden up and be more about me in the gym

Well said, bro!! I guess I sounded a little harsh in my previous statement. You will make a good trainer because you like to help people:) .

Thanks! ;) I just need to lighten up my demeanor in the gym now... I tend to walk around like a Clint Eastwood or something... kind of pissed off looking... people get put off or intimidated by that. :)

C-ditty, does your gym offer any kind of a "clinic" of sorts for addressing form? Like a Satuday morning session or something? If not, you could start one. Then, rather than running the risk of being offensive, you could just give that person a flier for the seminar.

I suppose that is like offering gum to someone with bad breath, though. :)

Yeah, they show them how to work on the bouncy balls... for better balance and strength...

I'd have to be a trainer there... working for minimum wage of trainer's salary... :) Then, then I could do it... :) In fact, if I was a trainer there, I'd clear it with the fitness manager...

Spatts... you are a bastion of ingenuity... if I spelled that right... I might run that by him.
