hey guys, just wondering if anyone squats and deads on the same day? Ive read a few post on guys who do! if so, what are the pros or cons of doing this? and would you change up your sets&reps compared if you S&D'ing by themselves. Interested to know, cheers:chomp:

One of the big practitioners of this is Brad Giliingham. You can look him up on google, but in short, his is in the top 10 powerlifters in the world, and is known for his big deadlifts. He has a video on his training available at the Jackyl's Gym store.

Essentially, on squat days, his accessory work includes high volume low weight deeds, and the opposite on dl days. I have used it to break through some plateaus, but believe me when I say that your diet and rest need to be spot on.

Most top level athletes do this. KK, Benni....I forget his name but he's called Big Z...they all do some Deadlift variation on their Squat Day and some Squat variation on their Deadlift day.

As for my personal experience:

Front Squats after Deadlifts is the shit if both are done heavy although my Front Squat "volume" is considerably lower than that of Deadlifts (which is normally 5-10 work sets).

On Squat Day, I do unilateral Deadlifts or so....I don't do any heavy Deadlift variant on my squat day. I have done it when I was deadlifting in the 200s and 300s. But not after I crossed over to the 400 mark. It's ok for me to squat 2x a week or even 3x but doing a deadlift variant 2x tends to burn me out. But like bblazer mentioned, I am sure with a good diet I would've done fine. :)
