I was told by a doc today about great amounts of protein shakes leading to greater risk of developing tooth infections (cavities).
I for example think this is 100% true. I had perfect teeth nearly all my life. When I first started training i never used protein shakes to get the extra amount of protein needed to build muscle, however as I progressed implemented them quite often into my diet. Sometimes on very hectic days I had 4 shakes but and average of 2 daily. This leads me to believe that the cavities my dentist recently filled we caused becuase of the shakes mainly, since I brush regularly and use mouthwash. Prior to my fillings this last month I have not visited to Dentist for 4 years so I believe this was caused by mainly protein. Also another reason is the fact that i didnt visit the dentist for 4 years and therefore did not get them cleaned once a year like recommended.
Just thought I would share my opinion and what I heard.
