Simple sugars after workout????? wtf

Wouldn't the carbonation in coke interfere with the whey isolate, and blunt protein synthesis? Why not just go with dextrose? High fructose corn syrup cant be a good way to replenish glycogen.

Exactly, high fructose corn syrup has a low glycemic index and will not cause an insulin response (fructose digests slowly). Cane (table) sugar is a disacharide consisting of glucose and fructose so it doesn't have all that high a glycemic index either.

Dextrose (aka glucose) is what you want post workout to spike insulin and cause muscle growth.

I use beer brewers corn or rice sugar. It is 100% dextrose and is not that expensive.

EXACTLY!!! You are 100% on the money with that response. Dextrose is the only way to go. Sucrose will attach itself to your protien and you will shit it out.
Ever notice people at the gym who say protien gives them the shits usually don't use water. They use cranberry juice or apple juice... sucrose.

How about AST's DGC? Anybody use that? I'm interested in trying it, but haven't really heard any feedback.
Yeah, that will work bro. It might me a little more expensive than just getting some dextrose or maltodextrin in bulk though. They have a similar glycemic index.

At the local brewing supply store but there are plenty of sites on the internet that sell brewing supplies as well.

Here's a link where you can get 4 lb for $4. http://www.midwestsupplies.com/products/products.asp?category=260
