Exactly, high fructose corn syrup has a low glycemic index and will not cause an insulin response (fructose digests slowly). Cane (table) sugar is a disacharide consisting of glucose and fructose so it doesn't have all that high a glycemic index either.
Dextrose (aka glucose) is what you want post workout to spike insulin and cause muscle growth.
I use beer brewers corn or rice sugar. It is 100% dextrose and is not that expensive.[/QUOTE
