Question about diet

Today I woke up and did intense cardio for 15 minutes. This was my first tiem doing cario on an empty stomach in the morning. Then 1/2 hour later I had 2 packets of plain oatmeal and 2 glasses of coffee. I then went to the gym and had an intense shoulders workout for 30 minutes nonstop back to back reps mostly. When I got home I had a protein shake with 40gs of protein and 15gs maltodextrose in water. An hour later I was extremely hungry so I ate 2 more packets of oatmeal and a 1/3 of a banana. 2 hours later I ate a 1.5 lean hamburgers with 1 tbsp of bbq sauce. 1/2 hour later I was still hungry so I cheated and ate all I could find. 1/4 cup of homemade macaroni and cheese and 1/2 hour later I ate 1 more hamburger. 3 hours later I was very hungry again and my mom had made linguini so I ate about a 1/2 cup with homemade tomato sauce. I am not sure how I ate so godamn much because I am on a cutting cycle and I have been eating very cleanly (none of thrdr carbs). I haven't had more then 70gs of carbs a day for a month until today. I had a cheat day the other day, so I am not sure why I had so many cravings and urges today. Could the fact that I started doing cardio on a empty stomach before my work out be cause of this? (previously I did cardio after lifting and never had to eat like this?)

there are different theories on doing cardio on an empty stomach vs somewhat fed stomach. personally, it just makes sense not to do it on an empty stomach, b/c you'll prolly lose a lot of muscle this way. i would have a protein + fat meal 30 - 45 minutes before cardio. don't eat carbs before, you want your body to be burning off fat, not carbs.

as for your cravings during the day, its something you just have to suppress, takes a lot of will power.

and, karma for you for reminding me of mac n' cheese, gonna get a couple boxes when i go shopping tonight!

Actually Step-off in my Diet and Excercise reader from my class it has a study that shows when you have fasted for 6 hours lipolysis is increased substantially. Ill attach it as a .jpg once I get a damn scanner.

looks like you need more protein and less carbs if your dieting down and cutting like you said - and i agree with you 100% on morning cardio on empty stomach - it will lead to more fat loss but you have to keep you protein high and make sure your supplement are on line with your diet and excercise activities so you dont get catabolic

that may be true, but the fact that your body is in a fasted state means you're basically using whatever you can to burn energy, hence fat loss AS WELL AS muscle loss

I think you set yourself up for major cravings by inducing low blood sugar. Your blood sugar was low, then you put in carbs - I am figuring your oatmeal is instant because you said it was in packets - and then further drove your blood sugar sown with caffeine. If I don't have protein I crave food all day!
jmo!
