Had my first powerlifting meet today, I competed at 198 in the teen division. I weighed about 200lbs. at the time of lifting today.
The meet was a lot longer than I thought it would be, we were mainly waiting around to lift and ended up being at the gym from 9am-6pm. It was exhausting and grueling, the amount of caffiene and five hour energies I consumed made me crash before the meet was over, I took jack3d at 10:00am thinking the latest we would be lifting would be 1pm. Little did I know how late we would be there, I was exhausted by the time I had to dead lift.
I totaled 1265
I'll go through each lift.
Squat: My first two attempts, 415 & 450, were ATG, in the videos you can see me talking to the black dude and he is commending me on how low I am going, he also tells me I am wasting my energy on the extra depth. So on my third attempt I ask him to shout when I hit the right depth that way I don't need to worry about failing myself.
On my last squat attempt, 475, I hit the lift fine, as you will see. However I fail it because at the very end of the squat you see me shift my feet as I get ready to rack it, well I never got the verbal cue "rack" so by shifting my feet I missed the wait. You guys can be the judges if my third squat attempt was a squat .

Bench: So at this stage of the game I was still feeling pretty solid, although not nearly as fresh as I was on the squat. The pre workout crash was starting to hit me. It turns out pausing at the bottom of the lift takes about 20lbs. of your max. It was brutal.
I got 305 fairly easily, problem is it didn't count. I racked the weight before he gave me the command, totally my fault as you will see, I just wasn't focused on the commands once I completed the press.
315 I hit fine, and followed the commands, so it counted. 330 was damn close but I just couldn't recover from the lack of stretch reflex.

Deadlift: Felt terrible in the warm ups, literally thought I was going to die from the crash I was experiencing. Every warm up set I got light headed, I was so worried I was going to faint on my opener set. My first set was 455, I hit it easier than I thought it would be, but I got very lightheaded once I put down the weight. You can tell in my deadlift video I look a lot less fresh and pumped up than in the previous ones. My second attempt I scheduled 500, I killed it, my third attempt was 525 and I failed it.

The meet was a learning experience. I was not 100% but I still set PRs in the Squat and DL, enjoy the vids.
