DO NOT give up weight training.

Also, there is no such thing as "kinf of dieting"... you are either dieting or not. The only one being fooled is yourself Bro.

As flowerz (AKA Nic) here says, the lowdown on any cutting program is:

1. Diet: No wonder, most of your results will come from this
2. Cardio: You need to help your body movilize that fat, right
3. Weight Training: The more muscle you have, the higher your "Metabolism" will be (for all the haters, I am oversimplifying here, ok... so save it)

when i meant kind of dieting, i meant i was in a dilemma not knowing if to or not to weight train, i decided earlier today that i will and just finished my 45 minute session, quite amazed of the fact that i lost at least 15% of my strenght :(

I've found that I lose some strength when I cut down. My worst is my bench press. At 6' and 260# I could rattle out 12 reps at 225 and push nearly 300. Now, at 225, I'm having trouble pushing up 225. Of course I'm nursing a minor shoulder injury. All other exercises have fallen off a little. It gets down to looking like a typical power lifrter or being a bit weaker and looking frickin' ripped.....

that happens normally because while cutting we don't eat nearly as many carbs as when bulking...

a small solution to this carb-cycling.. that way you can actually increase your weights (albeit slower) when cutting.

okay, doing by back and triceps today have eaten 30minutes ago so will be waiting another 90mins before i start... i have egg white powder, question is how long after the workout do i take it??

right after you work out you should have a well balanced post work-out shake. I read that it is best to wait about 30 min after consuming the shake to have an actual meal, that way you give the shake time to enter your system w/o any delay. Just make sure that you dont eat fat after lifting

The best kept secret about dieting is that there is no secret. It sucks and it takes commitment. Those books will have you believing otherwise though...

Just some advice, look around for a diet that actually sounds good to you. The best diets, in my opinion, have carbs; they will keep you sane. You'd be suprised the things you'll do when you're deprived of carbs. Also, since you haven't been in the gym in a while, low carbs will make your gym days feel absolutely awful!

If you're feeling really fat, cut the salt out of your diet for a week. The lost water weight will make you feel wonderful and help get you into the dieting spirit.

Good luck.
