If I wanted to eat sweet potato, but only wanted to consume 50grams carbs of sweet potato, how much (in grams) does this sweet potato have to weigh?

Also...bit confused on what my oatmeal says. The back of the oatmeal box says that 1/2 cup (40grams) equals out to 27grams of carbs. But this is bullshit. Why? Because when I weigh out the oatmeal to "40grams" on the scale, it does NOT come out to "1/2 cup" like Quaker Oats says it would. It instead comes out to more like a "quarter" of a cup.

So which is correct? What equals out to 27grams of carbs? The weight? Or the cup size?

40grams cooked. It'll double in size. As far as sweetpotatoes just googles the macros and the chart will usually have an actual weight or measure to go along with macro listing....you might have to do a lil math after that to get it exact.

That's what I "thought" it would be as far as the oatmeal. But that's NOT what it says on the box. It doesn't say 40grams "cooked". It says 1/2cup (40grams).

Just measure out 1/2 cup dry, add 3/4 cup water, put in micro for 1:45 and call it 27 grams carbs...too much thinking, not enough cooking! Yam/Sweet Potato...I believe 6 oz is approximately 30 grams carbs or so...so just about 7-8 oz is pretty close to 50 grams carbs.
