Okay well, I started HST training last Monday. Been about 7 days now. The whole 9 days before (the deconditioning period) I hadn't eaten a lot or trained much at all. I weighed in at 173 lbs. in the AM on Tuesday. This morning, I was 184 lbs. Now, I know that's not muscle. It can't be.

My question is, what is it? I check the mirror, and I look flatter on my stomach (or at least the same) and my arm measurements increased 1/4". I want to minimize my fat gain, and I don't know if that's what all this weight is. I was thinking that maybe it was water retention since I started eating a ton, and drinking 1.5-2 gallons of water a day. Still, 11 lbs. of it? I doubt that.

Should I cut my calories a bit? I've been eating 21-22x bodyweight on training days, and 18x bodyweight on non-training days. As far as I knew, I was a meso or meso-endo. I'm thinking I'm the latter, due to the 11 lbs. gained in a weeks time.

Opinons? Advice?

:FRlol: Didn't you copy mine? Wouldn't help me much! :p

I think I'm just going to drop my calories a good deal for now, because eating this much is too great a task anyway.

you are right that is a huge weight gain, even 5 lbs. in a week we know would be too much.
if you did 'suddenly' increase calories you are more prone to store them, rather than a gradual increase.
cut back some and it seems you will still gain (at a more healthy rate), it doesn't seem like putting on weight will be your problem :)
