Muscle Relaxants

Alright some background before the question. Went to ENT yesterday b/c of chronic sinus issues. Also because I frequently feel like the ground is bouncing up and down when I'm standing still or walking. The ENT's immediate response to this is to check if I have TMJ (which I already knew I had). He thinks this is directly linked to the dizziness. So for one week I have to take a muscle relaxant (Valium) and an anti-inflammatory (Naproxen) every night before bed for one week. If this helps the dizziness, then he can eliminate something more serious.

I'm guessing this is going to impact my workout or muscle recovery in some way. Any comments?

I took Naproxen from Nov - end of Dec. Didn't bother me, but you have to take it with food, you can't use advil or anything with it.

If it's before bed, I don't think it would hurt. Probably give you a good night sleep & energy for the next day

It would be nice not to wake up with my jaw out of wack and neck muscles like rocks.

Send me your extra.

I grind my teeth like a freak at night, and frequently wake up with serious headaches and neck pain. Not to mention I can't really chew anymore without some serious jaw clicking in my right side ..... The clicking I am fine with, it's the interrupted sleep and debilitating neck pain..............

I hope this works for you.... Sending you good thoughts :)

You've been quite the regular at the Doctor's the last few months, huh? :(

Thanks Daisy. LOL. I would if I could, my doc only gave me 5 valium (1x a day) and 15 naproxen (take 2x a day). So I don't wanna share ;).

I wear a guard now for the grinding, but I didn't have one until a few years ago... my teeth are so ground down that new dentists are just amazed. It sucks. :(.

Yeah, I'm definitely sick of going to the doc and to PT. Had enough of that for quite some time.

Forgot to mention that I had the best night sleep I've ever had, with the Valium. I'm going to have 7 days of that :D
