Lifting on an empty stomach

I'm trying to drop bf% and dont have time to do morning cardio and pm lifting.... i plan on waking up, do my workout and then do cardio all in the same session... all this on an empty stomach (taking an ECA only)......

what do you think... is anyone else doing this with sucess or is it a bad idea?
 
Personally I don't like lifting on an empty stomach....If you eat a small meal with moderate carbs I think you'll have a better workout and you'll burn the carbs lifting....
 
Gilly is correct! The first rule of working out in the morning, no matter what the excercise is, is NEVER lift on an empty stomach! When you wake up in the morning you're body will wan't glucose ASAP. After a long nights sleep you're gonna' be pretty empty so it won't take long before you're body turns to your musclemass for energy - BIG mistake!

What you do is eat a small amount of carbs and protein and by all means take you're ECA, but you need something to prevent total catabolism. Take for example an apple with a proteinshake or just protein in skimmed milk, it does'nt take more. 30 min. later - you are ready to go!

i feel very drained during a workout and even get dizzy if i dont consume a few carbs and protein....;) :p
 
Bad idea!!!! I did it last night-I was in a hurry and skipped dinner (I ususally eat a little somthing before my workouts after work) and I lacked energy, I felt weak and nearing the end of my chest workout I was finishing up with abs and started getting real light-headed I thought I was gonna pass out-never again will I do that.........
 
shitty.... i wanted to do this, then i can do carido on an empty stomach also..... guess not...... what if i eat just an apple.... well im gonna try it and see how i feel......
 
I do cardio in the morning b4 breakfast, then eat breakfast, then work out at the gym (weekends). During the week I try to do cardio b4 breakfast, then go to work, then the gym.

Maybe try another fruit-the skin on an apple is hard to digest and will result in heartburn when working out at least it does for me.....
 
ok. thanks..... i'd be doing the cardio and workout in the same session only 3 days a week or maybe 2..... and the rest id break it to 2 sessions.... i wont do it on Leg, back, or chest day... may shoulders day and bi's/tri's day.....
