I didn't read this thread but wanted to make two points:

1. Older rap music is better. The industry has been in a slump for a few years.
2. Most likely, your young teenage daughter listens to the stuff on the radio which is crap that has no meaning. Most of the songs on the radio are aweful and have only a few words as the lyrics.

3. The hair metal trash (99.99% whiteboys) that was popular in the 80's was just as trashy as the hip-hop now in days. Why people like curling dennounce the sinfulness of rap then go jam out to ozzy is hypocritical.

How about who gives a shit if someone dislikes rap. Fuck em. I dislike music, but I understand that we all have different tastes. I'm not going to go cut up country or some form of rock music because I dislike it. The music isnt demanding that I listen to it.

If people want to start judging rap, they can get all the facts, listen to all the songs, then come talk. Otherwise, you're opinion is worthless because for all I know, you might classify the macaraina as rap because it sounds poppy.

If you can hear rap and you dont like, perhaps think that it should be turned off because its noisy. Two points:

1) You're too old.
2) Next time this thought comes to mind, you feel disturbed by the sound of the bone rattling bass, let me know -- I'm gonna turn that motherfucker up twice as loud because I know dont like it. That's my way of telling you to shut the fuck up if you dont like it.
