Hypothetical Cheat week

GymIntensity

New member
Ok I need some opinions on a hypothetical here. I have been dieting with low cals for quite a few months now. Usually have 1 cheat meal a week. My main calorie intake is usually around 2000-2200...... usually 6 meals a day, 350 cals each, give or take a few each meal depending on time of day.

I am about to start a cutting cycle in a week or 2 and Im wondering if I take a whole week of cheating, meaning raised cals and not so perfect foods, and then start back clean and low cals when i start my cycle, if this will help trick my metabolism and maybe start up the fat burning a little better?

Would cheating for a week (raising cals and eating not so perfect foods) be effective in helping for weight loss when i start cycle????

thanks for any help.

I think if you've been at 2000-2200 calories for at least 16 weeks or more (which I get from u saying a "few months"), which IMO is too low for too long but whatever...
and somehow you're only "starting to cut soon".....

I definitely think a "cheat week" will have positive effects on your psyche and body. When I say cheat I don't mean constant junk food for a week... but make an effort to consume foods you've craved and will need to stay away from etc. Enjoy yourself.

I agree with Kabeetz, I think you should at least double your calorie intake for a week with clean foods, and then drop cals from there. Cheating for a week on nothing but "not so perfect foods" would not be the way to go IMHO. Some "junk" during that week should help erase cravings though, again IMHO.

Are your lifting at 2000-2200 cals a day? I know I'm starving if I try to lift at that low a calorie intake, even on Body O'.
