I posted this in "supplements board" but im gonna try here for more responces...heating protien...to make a"hoc chocolate/cocoa" type drink...will it break the protien down any? I dont drink coffee...and now that its cold out I drink hot choc every morning...it would just be convienient to heat the protien if thats possible?? Any experience/comments/suggestion?

I think it will partially break the connections between the aminos,
and possibly lower the biological value, but this probably
happens with whole foods like chicken breasts as well.. but not
sure. bump for you.

You should be fine if you don't boil the water. The moderate heat should not denature the proteins since the primary bonds are more likely to be broken chemically. Even if they are broken, it should not matter too much (take boiled eggs for example).

I would suggest adding the powder after the water/HC is already hot. Otherwise, you may get a funny aftertaste.

Should be fine.

Almost all high protein foods we eat have been cooked : All meats, eggs, fish etc.

Heat the drink first then add the protein.

I can see why you'd want to do this anway, most protein shakes are disgusting.

:theranger :cold:
