grapefruit/weightloss and low carb eating

I know of one BBer who swears by a small amount of grapefruit juice with coffee, a fat burner and BCAAs for morning cardio to burn fat, as carbs are the 'fuel' in which fat is burned.

Not all sugars are the same. Fructose, the sugar in fruit (which is often minimal) does not elicit an insulin response.

It's weird how some people swear by the strangest things but it does make sense.

Fructose also induces glycolysis, the central pathway in metabolism, more strongly than any other macronutrient/carb.

On empty, that may have more glycogen release.

The fructose is no worry, it's adding 3 table spoons of supre sugar to top it with the caffine, it would be great for energy yes but given the caffine spares sugar carb if you use the caffine for energy and never get to the sugar it will sit to fat. The insulin spike would be fine for the BCAA's but in combination with the fat burner I hope it's not a heave thermogenic with all that pure sugar, caffene, and the thermo I hear his heart beating from here!
