Creatine-Induced Injuries???

What do you guys think of this? I've heard a number of people say that creatine can cause problems. And recently, I had a weird injury while on creatine. I play football and was doing some drill work at practice. I hit a bag and my tricep just tore. Not a terrible tear, but bad enough to have kept me out for over a week and a half now. My trainer mentioned something about creatine "separating" muscle fibers. And I realized that the injury happened at the end of a three week insulin cycle, during which I was using about 15g of creatine a day.

Anyway, just wondering if you guys had any thoughts on this.

Hmmmmm?

I've been working out since I was a teenager with no injuries from training (I'm now forty). I started using creatine regularly about 6 months ago. I tore my left anterior tibulasis(sp?) last week running the day after a grueling leg session. Don't know if there is a connection.:fro:

I blame my pec tear 100% on creatine. Creatine cause the muscles to hold excessive amounts of water, similiar to gear, however it has no effect on connective tissues. If the muscle is engorged with water, the tendons generally are not capable of the stress. I don't know the scientific reasons behind it but creatine also gives myself and many others terrible cramps when coming off. This as I have researched is caused by over stimulation of the nervous sytstem...the electrical currents which control muscle. I have thought but can not prove that if you're in a dyhradrated stage that the muscle will actually draw water from the connective tissue.

I got a tricep tendon tear from creatine. I stopped using it in February and been ok since. I also had a lot of trouble sleeping while taking it. Was very restless.

Something sounds strange here. Been using creatine for years and never had a problem, ditto for other serious guys and women at the gym. Never heard of problems sleeping while using it, sure the stuff didn't contain ephedra? Some of these OTC supplements are considerably less trustworthy than Mex Vet AAS.

I bet some of this has to do with creatine + dehydration. Drinking water alone doesn't work well for rehydration. Gotta have some sodium with it to get the water into the extravascular compartments.

I get clear bumps on my arms and some on my chest about 30mins to an hour after taking creatine. The are like little water bubbles, I know it is from the creatine but I had someone tell me it's from too much sodium but I really don't think that is the cause. I get it everytime right after I take the creatine so I am 100% sure that is what it is from. It's by no means an injury or serious side effect but it's just a little weird looking for a couple hours, anyone else get this?

"Uh, hello. Am I the only one that knows about this stuff? My brother took this stuff for like, a long time. This stuff causes major problems. First, he went on this rage attack. Then he like, totally did not focus right. This stuff screws you up. My advice for people that are thinking of taking it: Don't. If you want extra creatine then just eat more meat. Besides meat is more healthy and gives you protein, which this stuff doesn't have."
