continue with school or stay at union job?

I would go back to school if I were you. A little sacrifice to do something you love for the rest of your life is worth it. If you don't do it you'll regret it for sure

I didn't read past the first page but Im going to say something unpopular...unless you have cience credits that are subject to essentially "expire" /you'd have to retake them I vote for going with the job

school will always be there..a job that pays well may not.

Dude, have you ever thought about modeling part time. Just do a google search for agencies in your area and contact someone with a pic I'm sure you'd get picked up bro.

I was randomly out at a bar one night years ago and some chick approached me saying she was a modeling agent and wanted to meet with me. I'm like wtf really? Totally out of the blue, so if I can randomly get discovered at a bar, if you pursue it you'd be picked up easy bro.

this never happened

Hands down, you'll have more choices with that PT degree! Of course it's a gamble to walk away from a secure paycheck, but if you're in your 20s, you have enough time to go with student loans and part time work, and maybe go a little short on lifestyle for awhile in order to get that degree. Having a family complicates it a bit, but some hardship now for a few years, will buy you and family some security and independence later. If you just stay with a union job, you're probably never going to go hungry or homeless, but you won't have much of any chance to do anything bigger either. And there is also the fact that with that degree, you're white collar. Even if you wind up going back to a blue collar job after you finish school while you find the position you really want, you will still be a white collar-educated man. That's a strong self esteem booster, and a helluva great example if you have kids!

We never know where life will take us, so the more possibilities you add, the better…

Sup guys, its been a while cus I've been super busy with work, school and kids. Everything is good in life , kids are healthy, and my relationship is better but I'm at a crossroads

I just got accepted to Sac State and I want to pursue being a Physical Therapist. I need 62 units until I can apply for DPT which is a 3 year program. Once I finish that I'll be a licensed physical therapist.

Or I can stay at my union job. Its a warehouse job for a grocery store all throughout California.WE max out at 23/hr, and if you work harder you can make up to 28/hr. Its union so we have pension, and we also have awesome health benefits that are free except for $10 copays.

The problem is if I want to continue with school I will need to quit my job because my work schedule will not allow me to go to school since I am on call. I still get 40+ hours but the date aren't set. But if I quit I'll have to find part time job at nights to help pay bills. But in the end I'll make more as a PT and I'd love what I do. I feel this current job is holding me back from school , but I'm also getting 20/hr with benefits, and I'll get a dollar raise 3 more times within 2 years.

I just feel like I'm smart enough to not be working at a warehouse job. Is it smart to live off school loans though?

Hope everyone's doing good
Can you do both? I know you claim it isn't possible but can you take some classes online that fulfill the basic requirements of your degree? I took a lot of online and weekend classes. As a rule it's always better to have a higher level of skill than rely on union contracts. My father worked 20 years for a company and lost his pension when they went out of business. A warehouse job is far more likely to be outsourced or eliminated by technology as opposed to a PT job.

No doubt...I was training in a Bally's during my college days and a hot blonde walked up to me and asked if she could use my arm....That's how I became a professional arm model.
