Celebrities versus regular

How come Jennifer Lopez and other celebrities have nice bodies even though they do lots of cardio and do whole body weight training four days a week, the opposite of what everyone on here is saying? How come they're not overtraining and wasting away their muscles?

How do you know what they are doing? By reading in a magazine? How do you know that is the truth? Not to sound mean or pessimistic, but I doubt if ANY of the workouts you read celebrites do are real. Even when I read about fitness competitors workouts, I wonder if they are "real".

And diet is the primary factor in achieving ANY body type. If your (or anyone's) diet is dead on, you probably will have a smokin' body too! :)

And who says they have not had chemical help either?

Celebrities have no laundry, dusting, taking care of errands to do -- they hire others to do these things for them and have disposable amounts of time and money to spend on themselves looking good.

What celebrities say and do aren't always one in the same. After all, Michael Jackson says he's only had plastic surgery twice. Others aren't even that open, saying they just "...drink a lot of water..." While stars having children out of wedlock may no longer shock the public, nothing stirs up controversy like the details of their diet and exercise regimens. As such, their publicists tend to play down the details.

The other difference is that a good many of us on these boards aspire to a physique ideal that's more athletic than the Hollywood look. Even the fitness model body is more muscular than anything in Hollywood. Many on here are actual competitors, bodybuilders, fitness, figure, powerlifters, judges or trainers. Others may not compete or work in the fitness industry, but we enjoy the benefits of the training lifestyle and want to learn from those who do.

As you'll find from just reading these boards, no one does exactly the same thing. All bodies are different. What works for one may not for another. Also, what works for one body at one time will not work forever. No one here has anything to gain by giving out bad information, most are just sharing what's worked or hasn't worked for them.

I totally agree with FitFossil - those of us who warn against excess cardio are holding a hell of a lot more muscle than Jennifer Lopez and co. Keep in mind actresses and other celebrities are warned against having too much muscle tone. Look at what Timea has had to do to herself now that she's trying to be an actress. She's basically had to drop all her muscle, since she was too "big and muscular" to act.

If you just want to look thin with minimal muscle tone, go ahead and cardio till you drop. If you want decent muscle tone - that nice, lean, muscular look, you have to train much differently than a celeb.

Give me 20 million in my bank account, and 1 year to play around with it....heh heh heh

We have to shop and cook our quality meals, theirs are generally done for them, their workout/training partners come to their house to properly consult/train the client.....

I have been on many movie sets, pretty unreal what these people get, and how they are treated each day....
