Can you change your porportions drastically over time?

Is it possible to change your proportions in a big way over time? For example if I'm a guy with small calves, chest and biceps. But a big back, triceps and shoulders, can with "specialized training" I grow my weaker parts into my more predominant parts? Or atleast more equal? Or will I just lack my full potential? Is it mostly genetics or does it have more to do with how you train your body over time?

With the right training, you can bring up weaker body parts, but they'll never respond as well as parts that grow more naturally, even with steroids. The Bodybuilding Truth: Discover how bodybuilders are getting scammed!

heard a lot of bros say some dudes will never have big calves.
I seriously think im one of these people. Ive geneticaltl had chicken legs. My quads have blow up since working them super hard and AAS. But my calves i train, and train, And theyve changed, But i feel they are freakishly smaller than the rest of me. I hate wearing shorts cause people will think i dont work legs and just upper body because they cant see my quads or hamstrings, they just see tiny ass calves stickin out... Pisses me off... maybe alittle synthol somday.

Yes with extra attention given to lagging parts they can start to become more in proportion with the rest of your body. However here is a few things to think about my friend. Unless you have super super freakishly large body parts that grow so damn large they just look funny dont worry about it. Unless you got super super weak body parts that are so freakishly small that they look out of place do not worry about it so much... Everyone one has genetics. Everyone has some body parts that are bigger/smaller then others and need more/less work then others. Even all the great pro's out there have this problem.

Every single one of them my man. So ya work on them lagging body parts and work hard on them. But don't beat your self up about any of it and don't make it your whole goal to make your body all perfectly in line. I say work hard on lagging body parts ya, but at the same time remember to give your self a pat on the back for the parts you have that grow well. Keep training them and be proud of what you got rather then down on your self for what you dont got.

I happen to have large quads but I still train them. I also have skinny wrist but i dont beat my self up over it. I have gone down that road in my mind in the past. I would stare at my wrist and think fuck man my wrist are skinny. dwell on it long enough and it will drain the motivation right out of you. I trained my wrist to death with out much to show for it but a little extra gain. Almost let it rip me up inside. But when others look at my wrist/lower arms. The only comments I ever get is " holy shit dude you got some think forarms" . So what you see is not always what is real ya know. Just enjoy what you got, work extra hard on things lacking but never let it fuck with your head man.

also I moved this to the right forum for you. Next time read the rules and put threads in the forums they go in. Thanks

same bro but I dont think its true for many people, I think you gotta find what works with you especially for calves. Iv had small calves all my life but I think it was around 3 months ago I was thinking Im tired of training my calves and not getting much out of them, I hadnt really been very consistent with my calf training up until around beginning of 2010 and even when I first started I didnt get much return barely got any growth and I tryed a couple differant things. Anyway about 3 months or so ago I read through every calf thread I could find on EF and one think that came up several times was rest pauses. SouthernLord made a thread actually saying that his calves have always been small and since he has been rest pausing they are quickly becoming one of his better parts, so I started doing some rest pauses and since then now they have grown 0.75 inches. Not great and by no means do they look huge but Im not quite as embarrassed by them now and they are still growing. I know calves will prob never be my strongest bodypart but this has given me hope that some day I will have calves that look big enough to catch a little attention :)
