i was just wondering what kind of sugar is brown sugar?? i dunno if ne1 knows what i mean here tho. so like, u know how sugar in fruits is fructose...and white sugar is sucrose. well whats brown sugar?? i think its dextrose. i heard that in my science class a long time ago. i dont really know tho. cuz well...i got protein powder!! finally...after begging my parents for so long!! and i was just thinking how using honey would be kinda messy and a pain in the ass. and brown sugar would be so much easier to mix into my shake.

I think brown sugar is white table sugar and molases. Its 96 percent sucrose from what I've read in the past. So it is about equivlant to eating table sugar(sucrose) for post workout carbs. Dextrose(glucose), maltodextrin, potatos, rice are all listed higher on the GI than sucrose and better for post workout carbs.

Yep, brown sugar is just sucrose crystals that have been suspended in a molasses syrup. There are small amounts of invert sugar and organic acids also present.
