Bodybuilders Are Stronger Than Powerlifters!

SSAlexSS. all you present is unscientific recycled flex and muscle media bullshit.

a big muscle is not always a strong muscle.

not one person has agreed with you on this post. I am the only one who considers themselves a powerlifter...yet all "bodybuilders" and weight trainers agree.

back out gracefully.

you have a few options.

1) train with dedicated powerlifters or watch then train and count the plates and reps/sets.
2)go to the powerlifting forum on this site and ask the powerlifters to give you numbers reps and sets and compair them to your own
3)visit this site http://www.elitefts.com/
go to the "ask dave" section and repeat what you have said here.
(you better be ready to get your ass seriously kicked and they have the science to back it up.)
4)buy some serious training books(read:textbooks) and invest in some articles on the functions of the human body and how it adapts to resistance training. (not muscle mag fool.....journals and studies)

you will realise how stupid you really are.

research before you say anything ever again. dont make up bull shit. get back to the gym and train...you will learn more about training than sitting at a computer

excellent responses everyone: belial, endpoint, bignate, xax, mat canning, gymtime, etc...

this is one of the most halarious threads (and responses) I've seen in a while :D

ok, let's review children (mr. garrison):

bodybuilders goal: best body
powerlifters goal: greatest MAXIMAL strength in the big three

maximal doesn't mean most amount of work/unit time; it refers to the greatest weight handled, period.

if you want to do lots of work, run up a thousand step stair case.

I have to admit, you are one of the most creative individuals I've encountered. Watch lots of Barnie ay? :D

The sad thing is that every time someone responds to trash this retarded post, it stays at the top and get even more attention. We've got to learn to ignore stuff like this so it just goes away!!

Shit, I just bumped it back to the top....

Naa...everyone has their opinion. It is good that they can share their opinion about things and that they can be discussed.

The problem sits as where someone defines strength. Does one define it as how much one can squat/bench/dead? What about how many reps they can get? What about how hard they hit a baseball? What about how good of a Offensive Lineman they are? What about how many times they can flip a 800lb tire? What about picking up a 400+ lb stone?

Strength is measured in many different ways. Many, many, many different ways. I consider myself to be strong, yet I do not have a great squat, bench, or deadlift. I can do things that most powerlifters can not. They can do things that I can not. Where is strength measured?

BUMP!!!

hehehehehe. :fro:

I'm just wondering.... if bodybuilders are stronger than powerlifters, why don't they all cross over to powerlifting and become top of the game?

To say that size is proportional to strength is only true if you look at it from a very simplistic POV, Alex. Truth is there are a great deal of other factors involved, namely the nervous system as mentioned previously.
