Bicep shock routine. Will this work?

A friend of mine is trying a bicep shock routine where he is working bi's 3 times a week. I have also heard of people doing this with basically all other body parts. I guess the idea is that when you start to stagnate on a particular muscle group, if you work 2-3 times a week for about a month, when you go back to 1 time a week you will grow much more. I personally think that this a sure fire way to overtrain, especially if you are natural, but I was wondering if anyone has tried something like this and what their results were?

doing bis 3 times a week.......

considering u need your bis to be working at peak form when doing your back as well, i cant see there being enough time for the muscle to recover.

It is feasible, especially in a 3 days/week workout like HST.

But the point is that you do a full workout with like 8-10 sets each time and you are still doing your regular split at the same time.

Ok, I understand that. Providing back day is separate from the two other bicep workouts (a day either side of back day), and includes one of the bicep workouts, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Have you tried anything like this before?

in my first years of lifting i was hell bent on having huge arms and would work them 3 sometimes 4 times a week and for the first week i was getting great pumps and then i bottomed out and was able to move less weight for less reps - i had yet to discover the less is more principle and that it worked very well for me.

I'm doing bi's and tri's twice a week. I work bi's with back, and tris with chest, and then I have a separate day where I just do bis and tris together. It's working.

How long have you been doing this split for? What is your volume like and is it the same each day or do you do more when you work them seperately?
