Article ideas

I am finally starting a website, and I'm planning on using it as a means of providing training and diet information for women (and men too, but I want to focus more on women), as well as the personal gallery stuff. What types of articles would you guys be interested in? I have a few resources I can hit up for contributions, and I plan to write articles myself.

I appreciate any help!

I'm planning on a similar website for the Dutch language area, mostly about training and diet geared towards women who want to loose or gain weight. Anyway, I would recommend you take a look at Krista's website first, íf you don't know it yet. It's very complete and as your website will be in English as well, you probably don't want a lot of double information. I plan on asking Krista if I may translate some of her articles into Dutch to put them on my website together with my own stuff.

In the articles about diet, of course include sample diets, but maybe also some explanations of why eating a certain way is beneficial. Like...why you need fat, and not mixing fats with carbs in the same meal, good carbs vs. bad carbs and why the bad ones are bad (ie. white bread vs. brown rice). Stuff that makes the dieting portion more understandable to the point of it becoming common sense to folks instead of them just blindly following a pre-planned diet. That way personalized adjustments can be made easilly. I think once someone understands how their bodies will process the foods, the dieting becomes second nature and it's much easier to stick to healthy eating.

Actually, I'm very glad Krista's site covers the ABCs of weightlifting, because that's the piece I really didn't want to cover. The aspects of weight training that fascinate me are the different methods, different splits, compound vs. isolation movements, etc., so that's where my focus will be. Same for nutrition - the different types of dieting methods just fascinates me, so that's what I'd focus on. I'd probably include more of the ABCs on nutrition, just because that's the area most people are in denial about. It's easier to get people lifting than it is convincing them to clean up their diet.

A very good idea indeed! I haven't read the part of Krista's website about nutrition, because I've found all information I needed about that on discussion boards about BB. Indeed, she has done a great job in explaining the basics of weight training, an excellent idea to make an addition to that. That way your websites will add value to each other and not just be competing with each other.
