Why are so many people affraid of squats?

I squat, in fact I am squatting tonight. Everytime I lift I try and perfect my form, hopefully my squat form will get better and better.

yeah squats always feel heavy - no matter how much stronger you get, even BW feels heavy - at least for me :)

I'm with you, when I'm warming up with a plate per side (135) it feels heavy, but somehow I manage to keep adding weight and hitting my reps

When I warm up with 135lbs and 225lbs, it feels like nothing. For me, it starts getting heavy over 315lbs. However, when the weight is resting on my back, it feels good. When I got to squat down into the hole thats when I feel how heavy it is. When I put 405lbs on the bar, it certainly feels heavy. Squats only make me nauseated when I perform high reps (over 10).

Because they are hard and they make you feel like puking and passing out.
Most of the general public are looking for the easy way out to look like bodybuilder.

Squats are the core exercise on my leg day. It's a love hate relationship. I look forward to doing them, but when I actually start lifting....I begin to hate the damn things. Nothing worse than high rep squats. That will put you on your ass in a hurry.

A friend of mine just started working out. He hates squats and will do whatever it takes to get out of them. If he has something come up and can't lift a day, he'll just skip leg day.

The average person doesn't like pain. That's why you never see them squat or deadlift. They will bench all damn day cause that's what everyone has a pissing match over. "How much you bench dawg?"

Oh well, don't squat, just makes me look bigger/better.

Excellent response!:D

When ever I'm asked that, I always respond with, "How much do you deadlift?" (That's partly due to the fact that my bench sucks ass.....:( )

It gets some funny looks.....
