so I leave tommorow for a long (9day) vacation with a large group of family. I'm not really all that concerned about it, and am looking forward to the break in training (if there isn't a gym in our facility :)) and a little break from dieting..

my question is..do you guys just let loose on vacation or do you still eat as healthy as possible? I figure I'm gonna let loose a little but try and stick to the lean meats and steamed veggies for the dinner outtings

Haven't gotten a vacation in years  but I remember the last time I went to Nassau I totally got rid of clean food while I was there and enjoyed myself. I did watch my overall total calories for the day so my bodyfat actually stayed the same throughout the week. Usually breakfast buffet of whatever I wanted, eggs, sausage, pancakes, pastries....Then a nice dinner and a glass of wine. Not the best meal patterning but I stayed close to my daily caloric maintenence levels for the day. Enjoy yourself and have a great trip.

Yea, that's what I plan on doing. My cousins are very athletic so perhaps ill go for a morning jog or a morning walk to and enjoy the scenery/weather and get some cardio in :p

I plan to just try and be as relaxed as possible but I'm scared I'll go crazy without my fitday :p

Just curious how did you keep track of your overall calories if you ate out?

it's vacations

vacations are vacations, from everything.

Enjoy, you can go back to yourself when you return.

btw, 9 days is not really a "long" vacation bro. :)

If you have been keeping a good diet for any length of time, you should ve able to visualize portion sizes pretty easily. Eating out just look at the portion sizes, and "guesstimate" it if you must.

LOL, yeah, then add 20% fat & carbs because of their cooking methods vs. yours.

What lifter said basically. If you've been following and keeping track of your diet for quite a while you pretty much learn to know how you feel after consuming X amount of calories. Can't be totally accurate if you're at a restaurant but you should be able to make an educated guess of how many calories you're getting based on portion size and how "full" you are after eating.

Have fun!!!!!!!

hehe, sounds like you need a vacation if your asking about how you'll track with fitday :p

It's a break... enjoy it bro :coffee:
