To Turn A Midget To A Man - ZgzaZ's Log -

thanks guys, i know 10lbs won't happen much longer, but I'm sure 5 and 2.5 increases can happen for a few more weeks at least. What would you suggest when it stalls?

a deload (less weight rather than less reps) or a break.

a monster carb up during recovery :RADAR

Not until I stall in the majority of my lifts... and how far back should I push my weights in the deload phase? Maybe 3 weeks back?

Week 7 - Day 1 - Nov 5th -

Squats - 5x5 - 125x5, 150x5, 175x5, 200x5, 225x5
Flat Bench - 5x5 - 125x5, 150x5, 175x5, 200x5, 225x5
Rows - 5x5 - 100x5, 115x5, 130x5, 145x5, 165x5
Underhand/Overhand Grip Pullups - 3x8 Bodyweight

Squats still going up quick and easy, Flats were solid, rows I accidently did 5lbs more than I was suppose to be they went up too. Gonna have a big eating day and a lot of sleep tonight.

Week 7 - Day 2 - Nov 7th -

Squat - 4x5 - 125x5, 150x5, 175x5, 175x5
Inclines - 4x5 - 125x5, 145x5, 165x5, 185x5, 190x5
Deadlift - 4x5 - 155x5, 185x5, 215x5, 250x5
Seated Dumbell Presses - 3x8 - 60lbs

Decided to bump the deadlift up 15lbs this week rather than 10, and were still fairly easy with very strict form, the inclines going up 5lbs from last week were very light too, so I did an extra set 5lbs higher, got them too. Next week i'll bumb the dumbell presses up to 65lbs, they were a little tough for me, probably due to being dead from the squats, inclines, deads.

Week 7 Day 3 - Nov 9th -

Squats - 4x5 - 125x5, 150x5, 175x5, 200x5
1x3 - 235x3
1x8 - 175x8
Flats 4x5 - 125x5, 150x5, 175x5, 200x5
1x3 - 230x3, 235x3
1x8 - 175x8
Rows 4x5 - 100x5, 115x5, 130x5, 145x5
1x3 - 170x3
1x8 - 130x8
Barbell Curls - 3x8 - ez-curl-bar + 60lbs
Tricep Pushdowns - 3x8 - 130lb straight bar

The Flats 230x3 was nice and easy, so i bumped it another 5lbs and got those all easy too. Squats I should have done one more set and bumped another 5lbs also, but I wanted to make sure I got all my rows, which I did. The accessory work went fine too, I'm feeling great....nothing close to a stall in any of the lifts yet. Any feedback this week?

If nothing is stalling and you're moving along and feeling good, then just keep pounding away, thats all you could ask for; progress and no injuries.

I sure will, hoping to make 4-5 more weeks of progress before my first deload.....I'm happy with my progress thus far.

Week 8 - Day 1 - Nov 12th -

Squats - 5x5 - 135x5, 160x5, 185x5, 210x5, 235x5
Flat Bench - 5x5 - 135x5, 160x5, 185x5, 210x5, 235x5
Rows - 5x5 - 110x5, 125x5, 140x5, 155x5, 170x5, 175x5
Underhand/Overhand Grip Pullups - 3x8 bodyweight

Feelin good still!

Looking good. It is certainly a good site to see weight on the bar. I think you will continue to see big gains on squats. Bench for me lags WAY behind squats and deads as I think is the case for most (hence my guess!)

Glad to see you enjoying the 5x5. I wouldn't think a delaod would be needed for quite some time. Someone newer to this type training can do a periodized program for months and months w/ out deloading (I know I did) b/c if your not in pain and your not stalling you should not deload IMO.
