It works let tell you, last week we went to dinner at my boyfriend's mom's house and it was driving me crazy everyone was eating yummy desserts and then I caved and was like I want a piece of apple pie, my boyfriend looked at me as was like what, you want what, you realize you're competing soon and you want some apple pie I was like yea i do now give it to me, he's sure hold on a second though, puts out my digital camera, were that recent pic of my stomach was and was like here look at this....so do you still want the pie? I was like hmmmm no, you have it haha.

Awesome.
Give that boyfriend a big thank you kiss.

If I can not dodge the situation with an oh thanks, but I'm fine sort of comment I've been known to walk around with a plate of goodies and accidentally forget where I left it- works well with alcohol too. (Oh and if you need to walk around and "look cool" with a drink in your hand just get a seltzer with a slice of lime.)

But of course if there are shrimp being served you're lucky if there are any left.

I did :)

He's really good at keeping me focused.
That's great... my BF is starting to understand how much fitness means to me... The pics sure help as well, since he has to play photog :verygood:

Today someone brought in a chocolate cake and said it's over there get a piece and she was inhaling a piece. I just said I'm full right now... maybe a little later. Well later it was all gone. I didn't want any anyway... I was just being polite. People eat junk all the time. I have my food schedule all figured out and I just look at something and in my mind it registers as that's a ton of carbs... If I am that hungry I'll go back to my desk and grab some beef jerky, or peanuts... I really don't have the cravings any more. If I did I would just go make some sugar free hot chocolate and that works....

I grab a Diet Pepsi when I'm craving sweets as long as it's not evening & that usually helps me...

I'm a teacher, and almost EVERYDAY there is some kind of sweets in the lounge - it is ALWAYS someone's BDay (either student or child) and the extras end up in the lounge.

I usually can't resist - unlike Jen, I LUV frosting. :) But often I do resist, by just walking by it without a second thought. If I give it a second thought, I will end up with a jumbo slice o' sugar. :)

If you can't walk by, you have to stay in the room ..... you could play "hostess". If you are busy making sure people have plates, napkins, know where everything is, making sure the trash gets thrown away, etc etc - then you are too busy to eat.

thats a good one daisy..
the problem for me is NOT willpower...cos NEVER eat junk. i dont want it. ive eaten this way for years..and i love my protein anyday over sweets.
Hopefully distracting them could be the key...or just pushing it around on your plate :)

make a low fat cake and chuck in loads of protein powder in the recepie, let them eat it and if you have a tiny slither it's not the end of the world.

A big part of what keeps me completely uninterested in the junk food is just the fact that I feel so good w/o it. Esp when the six 6 jeans fit, etc. It makes a huge difference and the lure of sugar is literally about as interesting as a pile of worms.

But to be polite, just say no thx, its too sweet or whatever. And more for you guys! Or you can really be mean and just say, naw, you can have that extra inch of fat on your ass. I don't need it.
