Rev Band Deadlift question...

b fold the truth

Elite Strongman

Thinking about doing my rev band deads tonight after my box squats. Question though...how tight should the heavy band be? Should I hang it from the top of my power rack...like 7'?

We used the dark blue bands I BELIEVE 3 pins from the top. Hannibal will be along shortly, I'm sure. Even at 133 pounds, we could bounce the bar around. Didn't really weigh down until 221.

Choke it (ie loop it through itself) at about 5'6". You'll have to run your pins through your rack and connect the band to them...should be around shoulder high. You want to make sure that the band STOPS helping just past your knee...so it is all you on the lockout.

SPEED SPEED SPEED is the key on these.

Sounds fun. Not sure how high my highest pin is...but it isn't too high...I'll go check. But it should hang down to my knees huh....story of my life....

You and I are about the same height...the pins should be at about shoulder height.

Won't that depend on what band he's using?

Not really...all the bands are the same length. So while it will make a difference which band he is using as far as how much help he can get...there is relatively little difference between where they stop helping.

That's doesn't make sense. They are diferent widths with different tensions. If you pull a fat rubber band back an inch and a skinny rubber band back an inch, they won't both shoot the same distance.

Ok...I just hooked up the green band and the blue band from the same pin. They were within half an inch of one another as far as how close to the floor they were. I think that the weight of the bar and the speed of the lift would eliminate any of the "slingshot" effect that you are talkin about though I do see your point.
