This for mostly the newbies but I can atest to what alot of guys are saying without proper rest and food intake juice is worthless! I used to work 2 jobs and maybe got 3 hrs of sleep and did'nt gain much off the cycles I was doing at the time--Also there have been times where I just could'nt afford the food intake I was needed at 270lbs so I would struggle to keep my calories up and it totaly ruined a cycle for me-- Most of those days are in the past now and I have gained huge amounts but remeber don't do steroids if you don't have the money to eat of the time to sleep with a family at home......

food...which ones at which times

In addition, with a modest amount of studying you can learn which foods to eat prior to and after workouts to speed recovery, give you a solid session and remain lean. Low glycemic carbs should be consumed early and late in the day, as well as grazed on throughout the day (Fruits, veggies, protein etc) ..... the high glycemic carbs are pounded after a workout, as they burn very rapidly and can be best used by the body at those times (breads, pastas, bagels, cereals). Of course this varies with your goals at the moment, (weight gain, lean out, etc.) and protein goes in with every meal...... but don't short cut the food intake!
