protein for post workout? quick absorb vs slow

krishna said:
I work out at night too bro. Your post workout needs require fast absorption to counteract catabolism from breaking down muscle fiber. I use flax and casein about 2 hours later right before I go to bed.

Point made... I may switch things up for a few weeks and see for myself if i notice a difference. :)

Soy is known to lower a mans testosterone production. The list goes on with reasons not to use it.
I believe I started a thread on it once.

I've seen contradictory studies on this, meaning I've seen studies concluding exactly what you just said, as well as studies showing otherwise. I'm undecided as far a soy goes. I've tried it before and it didn't seem to do much at all; that's why I quit using it.

I read up on soy and it seemed very good, also, my doctor praised it.

Yeah, general Doctors ALSO think steroids will kill you!

Been racking my brain but cant seem to find this.

What is used in the post workout drinks? is it just whey that has been made via Ion exchange?

Or should I be looking for something other than whey?
I want something to absorb quick.
thanks

PS (Yea wrong forum but you only ever get 1-2 responses on the diet/food forums)

If you're intollerant to milk , then go with a cfm of biowhey because the allergens have most of the health benefits of milk protein.

These are heavily filtered but keep most all of the protein including the subfractions

Yes mix with dextrose (dextrose and glucose are the same thing) or use a fruit juice that is mostly glucose such as 100% grape juice

Post-workout (PW) you are looking for quick and moderate absorbing proteins. Whey combinations of: Isolate and Concentrate, are ideal, along with Ion exchange whey. In addition, dextrose and honey should be a part of your PW shake.

Honey? Really...never thought of that..why honey Mr.X? benefits? Mine usually consists of whey/dextrose/glutamine

Honey is one of the fastest absorbed sugars there is.
