Pain in lower abdomen while doing squats

I am 20 yrs old and I have been Lifting regularly for about a year and a half now. I've notice that when I do my squats which are free standing with weight bar on my shoulders not a machine, that I get this pain in my lower abdomen in a pinpoint spot about 2 inches above the pubic hair line and 2 inches right (my right) of my belly button. Note that I am 6'2'' and 220. It kinda feels like if you were wearing jeans and the button of your jeans was drilling into you when you squatted down. It only happens when I get into my heavier sets too. Does anyone know what this is?

I've been told it could be that. It doesnt hurt me much at all but people have said it could be just the very early stage of one.

I have a lot of experience with athletic injuries: its integral to my profession. I agree with the others; HERNIA. See a doctor ASAP.

All the best.

It thought I had the same problem it was an extreme pinch about the same location you mentioned over to the right and everything and it would happen on my heavier quats as I went deep.

For me luckily it turned out to be the shorts I was wearing contained a built in rop like belt which I didn't realize was pinching me off when I squated low.

I didn't figure it to be the yellow rope/string since it certainly didn't feel like it and why in that one spot and not somewhere else.

Try shorts w/ an elastic band. As for me I just made sure to always squat w/ my shorts that had a wider built in belt instead of the shorts w/ the yellow string shit and have never had a problem since.

I always figured if it were the belt it would pinch off where the knot was I was wrong hopefully its the same situation for you.

had the exact friggen problem...............

went to the docs a million times diagnosis........no hernia.

however, just like you can strain eany muscle, abs can be strained as well.

i find that if i warm up porperly, and strech my abs.....i seldom incurr problems.

gooodluck
