Hello, Im a football player or specificaly a WIDE RECEIVER. Im 14 years old just had it 2 days ago and I have an inmportant question!CAN I SERIOUSLY START WORKING OUT MY MUSCLES AND MY BACK AND STOMACH MUSCLES WITHOUT HURTING MY HEIGHT? I HEARD THAT IF YOURE TO YOUNG TO WORKOUT, YOU COULD HURT YOUR HEIGHT AND THATS THE LAST THING I WANT TO DO AS A WIDE RECEIVER.ALSO I DRINK BOOST PROTEIN PLUS DRINKAND MY BIGEST QUESTION IS CAN I START MAKING MYSELF STRONGER WITHOUT HURTING MY HEIGHT!

Keep in mind that this is purely anecdotal... In my experience, you can workout and not hurt your height, BUT for some reason certain exercises seem better than others. I'd avoid dead-lifts, farmer walks, and instead do pullups, inverted situps, etc.

I don't know if or why this works, but just from observation, guys who do a lot of compression exercises (those which intuitively woudl seem to compress the spine) when they are young seem to not grow as much as guys who do extension excercises (those which decompress the spine).

Oh, and I forgot, more importantly, work on your speed, footwork, and FLEXABILITY now, all of which are FAR more important than your strength at this time.
