My first "proper" carb-up!

Up until now carb-ups have just meant eat what the fuck I want, chocolate, fries, burgers...etc, so I from now on I am going to do the carb-up properly!
Heres what I ate, any thoughts or comments are much appreciated (this is a 1 day carb-up, starting from Saturday morning to Saturday night):

C P F kcal
Lucozade sport (500ml) 32 - - 140
Sugar puffs (100g) 86 6 1 387
*milk, skimmed (250ml) 13 8 0.5 87
Sugar puffs (100g) 86 6 1 387
*milk, skimmed (250ml) 13 8 0.5 87
Beans on toast (2 slcs) 69 16.6 1 357
Pasta 'n' sauce 92 15.6 2.5 455
Chocolate (Rolo's) 34 1.5 10 235
Sugar puffs (100g) 86 6 1 387
*milk, skimmed (250ml) 13 8 0.5 87
Chocolate (flake) x4 40 6 22 380
Ice lollies x7 70 - - 280
Steak - 40 - 200
Sugar puffs (100g) 86 6 1 387
*milk, skimmed (250ml) 13 8 0.5 87

*consumed milk with cereal
Total = 733g CARBS, 135.7g PROTEIN and 41.5g FAT

I know there are somethings on there that shouldn't be on there like the chocolate but I think the main thing on a carb-up day is to keep the fat down which I think I have done.
Any comments are very welcome!
Thanx!

i would say if u are only doing a one day carb up, try to eat the foods with high gi carbs(cocoa puffs, dextrose, etc) earlier in the day and later on in day stick with low gi carbs(brown rice, yams, oatmeal). on my carb ups, i mainly stick to these foods: pro. shake w/ dextrose, cereal with skim milk, brown rice, pasta, sweet pots, oatmeal and sometimes gatorade

Well it looks fine to me, but the best way of knowing if It truly was a good carbup is to see how you perform in the gym this coming week. Most of the times I had Kellogs Cornflakes, Allbrands and toasts on my carbups.

But I dont think that was the best food for me. Actually I remember this one carbup when I didnt calculate anything.
2nd meal after dextrose shaker was hearring, boiled potatoes and breads.. I went totally overboard on everything.

Later on I had lowfat curd with allbran... Later that same evening I felt really pumped up, hard as hell. Went up to check in the mirror .. awesome feeling I was hard yet didnt have any water retention. Was the 1st time Ive seen a vein popping out on my chest.

The perfect carbup for me, but might not be for you. Just try different combinations of carbs. I got it right that one time but just as always I woke up the next day really bloated.. hehe
:D

i love the initial couple workouts after a carbup, very good intense workouts. i was starting to dislike ckd cause workouts seemed to be lacking intensity and strength but once the good carbups kicked in, big difference

desman is right. I'm a big believer in limiting your junkfood/high gi carbs to the initial part of a carb loading phase and then finishing it whole grains. Make cetain that you get in alot of EFA's during your carb up in order to create a proper anabolic environment. 4-6 tbs of flax seed oil throughout the day should yield the desired results.

Good tips guys

I did my first carb up yesterday but ate low GI all day.

I'll throw in high GI in the mornings next week.

im a bit confused, isnt this just like a whole day of cheat meals? I always thought a proper carb up would consume of whole foods that had good cards? Am i wrong? (Never done CKD before)

I know it's not the best carb-up in the world but I am still learning what foods to eat and when, also I didn't really prepare for this carb-up so I just had to see what we had in the kitchen, I think as long as I am getting a lot of carbs and to keeping my fat down, I should be alright (I hope)?!?!?!?
