Honestly I think that your training knowledge would be greatly enhanced if you couple it w/ some diet knowledge. For a quick reading, I have found the Body for Life book to have so many excellent basic guidelines for diet. And coupled with that, I'd recommend that you print out the two stickies above - Shadow's Project & the Project Summary. Those are really some excellent approaches to a diet coupled w/ training. Not saying you need to alter what you know about training to match that program, but you will see some ways to integrate the two, along w/ the guidelines from the BFL book. And also lots of supplement questions are discussed and details about how it all fits together - i.e. the same types of questions always come up when we introduce someone new to 'good dieting', so these are all addressed in those threads as well.
