Don't be too upset. A strong ass would be quite useful if you ever went to prison, for obvious reasons..........

Big butts

Take a look at your squating and deadlift stance. This could have alot to do with it. Do not stand wide. Wider stance will give you a wider ass. If you want a nice square ass all pressing should be done narrow. Straight out of the mouth of a former Mr Olympia.
 
Quarterback, that's the only true response I read that makes sense. I have an ass problem to. I work the legs hard at the the expense of building a bigger stronger ass. I do a moderate amount of cardio to counter this but there's not fat on the ass, just muscle.... In looking at my squat routine I do set up wide (to compensate for some back problems) and that may be helping build that caboose....

I defeinatley do all my squatting fairly narrow, about shoulders width. If i go in any more narrow, my knee starts to feel strange. But truth be told, i have had a mighty ass ever since i was young.

And at the moment, i have a mighty SORE ass [from exercising, you dirty bastards]

Genetics

Well it sounds like your just big a genetically big person. If you want to build a bodybuilder the task will be to bring everything into symmetry. Go light with high reps on your ass and any other part that seems out of porportion. Try to bring everything else into semmetry with your backside. Sometimes it is just futal.. Look at Tom Platz legs.

I squat at about 50 inches wide and deadlift sumo, and....

Out Back? Yes. Out Wide? No.
 
Hmmmm. I'd imagine those sumo deads and wide squats must be a sight to see. Probably not as impressive as a quarter bouncing off of you, assuming that experiment works as it's rumored to . . . .
