Low sugar?

ann

New member
This happens a lot to me : about two hours after bfast, I start feeling shaky and lightheaded. Always have assumed it was low blood sugar, and in the past, I would grab some oreo's or something sweet to help stabilize myself.

Now that I am eatin a little cleaner :), I was curious as to what complex carb someone else might eat at a time like that, to feel stable again. Dont want to grab the oreo's again...... :(

Anybody have a miracle "good" food at this time???

try some oats, or even a carb drink (carboblast or some crap like that.. tastes like koolaid so it'll satisfy the mental craving for sugar... i drink it immediately after the workout sometimes, really replenishes those glyceron stores... then follow about 1/2 an hour with a protein carb mix... (shake or meal)... )

that's whats worked for me...

are you on eca when you get these attacks? maybe that's causing/relating?

I just do hydroxy cut now. My problem in the mornings, I think was, I was downing waffles with syrup,poptarts.....all and anything loaded with sugar. Now I am laying off that, and had egg whites and oatmeal for breakfast. Seems like my body is just missing that sugar, but dont want to hit the sweets for a quick cure all. I will try a shake next time---didnt think of that. Thought I would stock up on some protein bars with fun flavors also.

I am going to get my b/f tested today, and am trying for that super clean diet today :) hee hee

Hope your feeling more upbeat Phem......thats a rough situation--but a smart decision by you. Your life, and you gotta be happy :)

If i lived close to ya, I would take you out for some fattening mexican food with those huge fishbowl margarita's :) Might cure your blues and my sugar and salt cravings :)

eeek... mexican is my fav.. natchos and pico de gallo till the cows come home (which would be me if i went on a mexi-casa binge right now ! :) )

taking a me day today... need it... had a kickass chest workout this morning... made everyone stare... :)

tested bf 16.3% after cardio and therms... i'd say damage control isn't as necessary as i thought... i just really need to get my appetite back... was super busy at work yesterday, hardly had a chance to eat.. actually visited the vending machine (gasp!!!) had a snickers.. work rest and play... keep it up i'll be playing with the whales :)

thanks for the concern... it really means a lot

Your body is probably going through a little bit of withdraw....especially if you used to feed it sugar anytime you felt this way...make sure you are taking in enough calories and getting good portions of servings. Also drink a lot of water between meals. Try a protein bar if you really get to feeling weird. Make sure you are eating every few hours as well. If it is something you are used to..it will take a while to break the cycle and your body does not like it!! If you have to eat something just make sure it isnt junk and it is good clean food. What do you eat for breakfast???

Thanks New@ and Phem. I did stock up on some protein bars. I hit the water pretty good all day......just got to get my body use to the void of sugar :(

I usually eat egg whites and oatmeal for breakfast. Use to eat the instant flavored oatmeal---- think my body is just a little pissy at me :)

Ann, I think you will get over that when you cut out all sugary food from your diet. I used to be the same way, would get dizzy and light-headed if I went to long without eating or if I had a hard-core workout and didn't eat enough right away afterwards. I may have been borderline hypoglycemic, I know my mom is hypoglycemic. But anyway, since I have cut out everthing sugary, I have not felt that way since! So cut out the sugars and you'll be much better off eventually. :)

Its a hard one to give up.......that sugar. I think Warlord calls it white death :)

That about sums it up:(

The hydroxycut helps curb my appetite, so I am not wanting to munch all day. But, I am trying to force 6 meals each day, so I have to remember to eat :(

It keeps me from not feeling so bloated after eating.....and gives me a slight buzz. I like it, and find it a pretty mild buzz---nothing I cant handle----doesnt turn me into a jittery bitch :)
