Looking to put on MASS...My NEW diet....

I'd rather just eat an extra 5 meals and have whey protein shakes every 2 hours to keep a constant flow of protein and a positive nitrogen balance.

how many shakes a day you have?

I am having a hard time getting 3200 cal a day in right now. Sick of chicken.

I would rather just have an IV drip. LOL.

Only one shake a day on training days. I don't use much powder as of now.

If I needed that much protein though (2g/lb or something) then I'd use tons of shakes.

Ok. If I were to try your diet, what types of protein would you suggest. I just dont know if I could handle eating that much food. I prefer to take lots of my protein from shakes. Would you ditch whey protein and go for something different? I am only going to try this high protein thing after I feel the gains slow down. Probably in about 4 months or so. What is your take on cottage cheese? I love the shit. Could you give me an example of one day in your high protein diet. Also what are your carbs and fat intakes as well durring this.

I'm not sure if you are talking to me, but the diet jkurz listed is actually mine. I try and get most of my protein from real food, but still have a few shakes a day. Also, a scoop of protein can help if your meal doesnt have quite enough protein, it helps to bump it up easily. I aim for 50-60 grams per serving, and 8 servings a day. I hate cottage cheese, but 1/2 container is 30 grams, and a large glass of milk is another 20. I usually eat it straight, but cottage cheese thrown in a blender with milk and chocolate mix(I use my wifes slim fast) actually tastes pretty good

Fuck dood, I hate cottage cheese too, but that concoction you just mentioned their makes my almost puke just visioning it. Its to bad I cant eat it, cause it is a great BB food. Same with Tuna. Cant eat it out of a can, but love Tuna Steaks.

JKurtz. Diet looks good to me bro. I would personally ditch the BP&J though for some other whole foods. The starchy carbs and sugar arent going to help you digest all your protien any better. Dont bother screwing as much with Chicken breats. Use the true bulking foods, Red meat, beef, whole milk, eggs. Leaner meats, although still high protien are best used when trying to harden or lean out. No sense getting sick of them now.

I like to add extra lean hamburger in when trying to slap on mass. Fry it up and pop some chili powder on it, add black beans to it, like we discussed earlier on the black bean thread, and whatever else you want to beef it up. Or ... just BBQ some big fuckin thick burgers on the BBQ, I eat a few of them a day when bulking. Easy to pack with you too. My girlfriend BBQ'd some for me today as I wasnt going to be home til later, and I just laughed when I saw them. I called them meatballs they were so small! lol. Make em big! lol.

Its seems like you guys (based on your diets you post), dont really run into this problem, but .. when taking in high protien like that, I MUST add more fibre to my diet, or I get plugged up pretty bad. Almost instantly, especially when taking in a lot of whey as well. I drink 500mls of prune juice twice per day when bulking, and also add in some oats and lots of black beans. Seems to work very well and keeps me regular, and I dont have to supplement. I give the credit to the prune juice. Sick as shit, but its loaded with all kinds of nutrients for you, and is a great non-filling fibre source thats not gassy like brown beans and others etc. Other than that looks pretty good bro. I will be curious to see if you get your 40lbs you are looking for. My advice, is just try to base your "real foods" around red meat, beef, whole milk, and eggs. And remember to get some fibre (from something), when you up your protien, so you are not shitting cement bricks.

good luck jkurz!

I am a big fan of the low fat cottage cheese. I have gained 9 lbs. in the past 2 months. I probably eat it 4 nights/week.

Are you using 20 oz. of milk in your shake at night so the casein will slow down the whey digestion? If you are using less than that I would maybe add some cottage cheese there - keeps you a little fuller while sleeping (like the peanuts you used to eat before bed) and the casein is slow burning fuel.

on the cheese slices, I hope you are using real cheese and not kraft slices. I learned a lot about how much more beneficial real cheese is from obiwan and juve.

Hey, if you guys find it hard to stomach cc, I got the solution. 1 cup cc, 1 scoop fav. protein (banana is awesome), 2 packets of splenda, hunk of anpb, and keep adding milk till it's pretty thick, but not chunky....in the freezer for a few hours....taste like friggn cheesecake icecream......thanks me later.

all you have to do is throw some spenda and cinnamin in the cottage cheese it is almost like a snack. When I first was told to try this I thought that there was no way cinnamin would taste good on cheese, but the shit is good.
