Looking to put on MASS...My NEW diet....

Debaser said:
Did you test this out with exactly the same amount of calories, the exact same training program, and exact same amount of gear if any was used?

Science is a funny thing.

Yep, I replaced CHO with protein and it's amazing the transformation I made. I did change to a timed carb approach where I had carbs first thing in the morning, during and after my workout. Otherwise, it was protein and fats. However, according to convential wisdom it shouldn't make a diffeence as long as KCal's remained the same.

when did protein become the enemy??? I would rather have an excess of protein (building block of muscle) than carbs or fat..im not shunning carbs or fat but why are you guys telling him he has too much protein??? i think it looks good kurz..im a protein whore :p

Yep and in 10 years people will be saying that 1000 grams per day is fine. I guess it all comes down to if you want to be a human being or not. I bet in 20 years the average lifespan of a bodybuilder will be about 50 years old. There are always junkies in every aspect of life. No wonder the bodybuilder has the dumb and dumber attatched to it. Its all fine whatever you chose. Its your body. And most importantly your check book. I just think that for that extra 5% maximum muscle growth you could expect for the overeating and overjuicing is not worth the side effects. You have a curve in the form of effects and side effects. Unless your a cutler or Coleman where every last bit counts it is kind of pointless to spend twice as much per month on protein as you really need to. Oh well there are always people who are willing to get big no matter what the cost is.

so are you calling me a junkie, I'm confused, must be the dumb bodybuilder thing???
I also really curious about what side effects you are referring to? My doc is on board with what I do, and he does blood tests every 2 months, and nothing has every moved out of the normal range, so are you referring to some sort of side effects that neither he nor I have any idea about?

No I am not saying you are. I was just trying to make a point. More is not always going to mean it is better. The guy only weighs 190lbs for christs sakes. Excess protein is not good for the digestive tract nor the liver and kidneys. It does stress them. In fact if you put less stress on them you will grow and have better recovery. You actually think he will put on more muscle eating 400 grams vs 300. I would bet $100K it would be very little difference at all. The types of food he eats is going to be more of a factor than how much he eats. If he is getting it all from meat then there is absolutely 100% fact he will not digest it all anyhow. The body just cant digest that amount of meat per day Peroid. Heck if I eat over 300 grams protein per day I am on the toilet all day long in pain. So for anyone to tell me that I would need 400 grams per day I would just look the other way and never take there advice again. If your getting enough clean carbs and clean fats you dont need to have that much protein for such a small guy. Remember people like cuttler have over 100% more muscle mass than this guy kurtz. Skin and bones weigh so the actual muscle mass is at least double his. With that being said I guess Cutler should consume 1000 grams per day based on what you guys are saying.

I dont know that seems a little low. I agree his is a little high but yours is to low imo unless your not tryin to gain anymore. I know several pros and almost pros all of which eat 1.5 xs lbm in protien. Where do you get your info?

Big difference between lbm and your weight. Yes the pros all use gear. I am not using gear now. So for me using almost 1.5 per lbm I feel I am at the high end without using gear. So you agree that a kid using 500 grams of protein at a weight of 190lbs is not riduculous? If you think it isn't then I sure as heck would never take you serious.

Well hes not a kid first off and second I ment 1.5 desired weight not current weight, sorry. So yes its a little high but I dont think it will ruin his diet.
BTW I dont care if you take me serious, You might want to have more than 40 posts before you start talkin smack ;)

i wouldnt trust everything that is printed about pro bb'ers but cutler does eat 600+ grams of protein at certain points..protein being stressful to liver/kidneys is old school and has been proven to be myth..unless you have some new research to prove otherwise?carbs are enrgy protein is the building block of muscle what would you rather have an excess of? perhaps your goals differ, maybe your content with your current size..cutler doesn not have 100% more muscle mass than kurz.. do the math..cutler is big but he aint 340..lol

Well your post proves my point. You forget about the fact that lean body weight is not 100% muscle. If you disected cutler and weighed his muscle at his best and then did the same to kurtz cuttler would have at least double the muscle weight.

Ok you guys can have your protein all you want. I will save my money and get just as big as you all over the next 5 months anyhow with lower than 300 grams per day natuarally. You might ask how is this possible. Well I have lost 50lbs of muscle from my best. Muscle memory works great. And when I was 265lbs at 5'9" 7 years ago I was eating less than 250 grams per day. Does this mean if I was eating 500 grams per day I would have gotten up to 275. I highly doubt it. In fact I bet maybe I would have gained another lb from that much more. Prbably would have just added fat. Over the long term I will save thousands on groceries and put on less fat.

Remember you get to a certain point and the excess dont do sqwat. It is like that with everything. There is a curve and when you start overloading it dont do shit anymore.
