Looking to put on MASS...My NEW diet....

I dont know that seems a little low. I agree his is a little high but yours is to low imo unless your not tryin to gain anymore. I know several pros and almost pros all of which eat 1.5 xs lbm in protien. Where do you get your info?

Big difference between lbm and your weight. Yes the pros all use gear. I am not using gear now. So for me using almost 1.5 per lbm I feel I am at the high end without using gear. So you agree that a kid using 500 grams of protein at a weight of 190lbs is not riduculous? If you think it isn't then I sure as heck would never take you serious.
400g bro...400............when I was around 245, I was taking inwards of 500.....now, since I've just begun, it's 350-400.......

I am assuming your on a good hefty cycle then. I just find it a waste to take that much protien in. I know as I have done my fair share of heavy duty cycles with gh,tren,halo,test,insulin,t3, and the kitchen sink and I put on 30lbs of lean muscle in 3 months that pretty much stayed with me for 6 months until I quit lifting while eating around 300 grams protein per day. I was 265 at the end of my cycle. I think that people are going overboard with the protein thing now days. If your taking lots of thyroid then I would bump it up.

I've found that bulking or cutting 1.5g/lb gives me better results than 1g/lb. Everybody has different needs and I'll never go back to eating less than 1.5g/lb.

chipvideo, I definitely disagree with your theory on protein intake. First, I dont think you can eat too much protein, as a bodybuilder with all the physical stresses on the body that go with trying to force hypertrophy, it will find a way to use what you eat.

Myself, I've been training for around 15 years, and juicing for 3. I started at around 125-130lbs, and this year was 260lbs, 12% bf at 5'8", and am currently 250lbs at just under 10%. And every time I have ever hit a plateau with my growth, I have forced my way through it by eating hyper amounts of protein

Did you test this out with exactly the same amount of calories, the exact same training program, and exact same amount of gear if any was used?

Science is a funny thing.

Yep and in 10 years people will be saying that 1000 grams per day is fine. I guess it all comes down to if you want to be a human being or not. I bet in 20 years the average lifespan of a bodybuilder will be about 50 years old. There are always junkies in every aspect of life. No wonder the bodybuilder has the dumb and dumber attatched to it. Its all fine whatever you chose. Its your body. And most importantly your check book. I just think that for that extra 5% maximum muscle growth you could expect for the overeating and overjuicing is not worth the side effects. You have a curve in the form of effects and side effects. Unless your a cutler or Coleman where every last bit counts it is kind of pointless to spend twice as much per month on protein as you really need to. Oh well there are always people who are willing to get big no matter what the cost is.

Is that the only agrument or critique to my diet? Whether or not I've gone overboard on protein?? I'm trying to add mass......plain and simple, if fat gets out of hand, I cut back.....everything else is cool?

I think as long as your getting around 400 grams of carbs in your diet per day as well you should gain quite well. Make sure to get your post workout carbs in masses. I am taking in 100 grams dextrose post workout along with 20 grams glutamine and then 2 hours later 100 grams from instant mashed potatos and about 8 oz meat. Then two hours later about the same thing. Dont forget to get EFA's. I really believe timing on your foods is just as important as to what you eat. Just make sure that if your going to take in a huge amount of protein to take lots of it in shake form.

Well, my biggest concern/problem is that I'm getting most of my carbs in 2 meals.....Or, I was anyways....I was having a cup+ of steel cut oats (dry measured) first thing in the am and then my yam was about 8oz in my third meal, along with veggies, salad, etc......those are my two biggest carb meals.....then it's 1/2 cup old fash. oats Pre-W.......glucose PW, along with another fast acting carb....

Is there a huge difference in carb content of 1 cup steel cut oats versus one cup old fashioned????
