LEG training RULES!

FINALLY got to do some REAL leg training yesterday after almost a MONTH off from annoying and persistant back injury.

So I did what any full-blooded smart-ass BB'er would do, and trained till I couldn't moan, only whimper, and had to lift my leg onto my bike to go home. OMG it felt so good! I think that was the hardest leg workout I've ever had.

But today ... I need the metal rails on each side of the toilet. BWahahahahhhaa!

Question is - why does this only happen if I've had a lay-off? Spatts, you said your legs feel like this after every heavy leg day. Can this kind of intensity only be generated after a really decent rest (i.e. up to three weeks between heavy days)?

Any experiences welcome.

My legs are ALWAYS sore for at least 2-3 days minimum..usually the 2nd day after training is the worst!! You should train them heavy every other week...alternating w/ heavy calves on light leg days. Try W6 leg day and see how you feel...sometimes what we consider pushing ourselves..is not really going all out...I know for myself, I can push pretty hard but if I have someone there I go a little further and can do more than when training on my own. I think you need someone there to keep ya going when you want to cry and quit on a leg day:)

ohhhhh i know that feeling all too well!! its great!! i got it just the other day....i was sick for a while and couldnt train.......when i went back to the gym it what a leg day and mannnn did i kick my ass!

hang in there grl!! stretch...warm baths (ummm:) )... glutamine...

Heh heh - don't worry new@. I kicked my ass so hard yesterday I almost vomited, but I was having so much fun I kicked a little harder. It went all kind of quiet in the gym - ha ha! People were kind of looking at me weirdly. I think I'm gonna be sore for about a week or more! I literally cannot stand up without hoisting myself.

Now here's a very specific question for you. I AM kind of following W6's leg programme - but re: the light days - you do lighter weights, the same number of reps, and no drop sets, forced reps, etc. Right?? Therefore - you don't go anywhere near failure, right?? So the next day, you're unlikely to feel anything, right? Are these "light" days supposed to feel like a walk in the park? How much effort do you expend?
