I just got a bottle of WM and have two questions for you guys in case you can help me out, first is this supplement more effective as pre work out or as a post workout carb source? My second question is, carbs in supplements like this one are considered fast digesting or slow digesting carbs?

The best time to utilize carbohydrate supplements is post workout. Carb supplements like waxy maize and vitargo are rapidly digested and assimilated. That makes it optimal for post workout to quickly replenish depleted glycogen levels.

Taking the carbohydrate powder pre-workout is not ideal because it will make you become hypoclgyceaic during your workout.

Pre workout - you want to stick with slow digesting low glycemic carbs because they will give you sustained energy throughout your workout. Before my workout I like to mix a whey isolate shake into oatmeal with some natural almond butter

Post workout - you want a easy digesting protein source and carbohydrate source to quickly replenish depleted amino acid and glycogen levels in the body. I would use 60g of whey isolate + 40-80g of waxy maize or vitargo as a post workout shake. Around 90 minutes later I would eat a high protein, high carb, moderate fat solid food meal.

if you want my honest opinion this whole post workout get carbs is a bunch of bullshit for most people.. let me explain.

if you use insulin post workout yes you need these fast carbs to prevent hypo. so yes those guys will put dex in shakes.. i did this myself when i used insulin. for the average joe who doesn't use insulin, you dont have to worry about it.. just go home and eat a balanced meal

For me I never have carbs in my post workout meal. At least not fast digesting carbs. This is a sure way to gain fat for me. If you are extremely thin and looking to add mass I can see them having a purpose.

I would not use it neither before working out, nor after doing so. There are much healthier natural sources of carbs to take, and I really don't think that you need to take such things WM.
