John Bernardi Diet????

Does everyone subscribe by the no fats/carbs in the same meal? I think my diet is on point, just not sure since I train in the evening if I should have pro/fats or carbs in my 2nd meal::

granola
cottage cheese

ORRR

cottage cheese and almonds? Which is optimum for lean mass gains? Considering I have 2 more meals before I train and sit in an office all day.

Thanks@

Who the hell is John Bernardi?? :)

Seriously, the food partitioning thing is such a crock. If it does work at all, it is simply due to a calorie limitation technique. By separating carbs/fats/proteins at meals, you are doing nothing in the end but limiting calorie intake as a consequence.

I do this on contest diet because it works for just that reason. Keeps me in a caloric deficit. The rational of insulin and fat is where this stemmed from...but many problems with this. One major one is Dietary fat affects fat cell metabolism without any increase in insulin.

And another is protein itself can cause a nice insulin increase. It doesn't take much insulin to affect fat cell metabolism.

Hmmm...me too....but I still do it to a point when I bulk......so in a meal of cottage cheese and no sugar granola...good protein, good carbs, you'd add in almonds??

so consensus is, it's ok to include both?

cottage cheese - 50g pro
almonds - 15g of fat
granola 30g of carbs?
